Start with the visitor
List the questions a potential customer needs answered: what you do, whether you serve their area, what the next step involves, and how to contact you. Review the site on a phone as well as a computer.
Separate content problems from technical problems
A confusing service description may need better writing rather than a rebuild. Broken navigation, inaccessible controls, or a platform that cannot support the required workflow may justify a larger project. Document the problem before choosing the solution.
Protect what already works
Before a redesign, inventory useful pages, existing URLs, forms, and measurement. Decide what to retain and map changed URLs to relevant new pages. A visual refresh should not erase valuable content or working customer paths.
Define the handoff
Agree on who owns the domain and accounts, who updates the content, and what maintenance covers. Include launch checks and a review period in the project scope.
